The 2024/25 Premier League season concluded on Sunday, with Liverpool receiving the trophy at a buoyant Anfield.
Like the title race, the relegation places were concluded weeks ago, with Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Southampton all suffering an instant return to the Championship.
Leeds United, Burnley and playoff winners Sunderland will hope to fare better in 2025/26.
There will also be jockeying to knock Liverpool from their throne at the other end of the table. Arsenal finished as runners-up for a third successive season, while Manchester City will have far grander ambitions than merely grappling for UEFA Champions League qualification.
Then there's there's the next steps of Europa League winners Tottenham and their defeated final foes Manchester United, each of whom surely cannot have such a dismal domestic campaign again.
So, when will we start to see the 2025/26 Premier League story unfold?

When does Premier League 2025/26 season start?
The first matchweek of the 2025/26 Premier League season is slated for the weekend of August 16 and 17.
However, once rights holders have decided upon the first batch of televised fixtures, it is likely that the first game of the season will be on Friday, August 15.
With the exception of the 2020/21 season, Sky Sports have selected an opening matchweek game to be shown on a Friday night since 2017.
The 2020/21 was only an exception as it began late under pandemic conditions.
Will the Club World Cup delay Chelsea and Man City's seasons?
In 2020/21, clubs who took part in the delayed UEFA finals matches for the Champions League and Europa League were allowed to start their seasons a week later.
There will be no repeat of this for those taking part in the expanded FIFA Club World Cup, which runs in the United States this summer from June 14 to July 13.
As such, if either Manchester City or Chelsea progress to the final at MetLife Stadium, they will be given no further time to replenish for the start of the Premier League season five weeks later.

When are the Premier League fixtures announced?
The Premier League fixtures for the 2025/26 season will be released on Wednesday, June 18.
Every match will initially be announced as a Saturday 3 p.m. kickoff UK time, or 7:45 p.m for midweek rounds.
Those slots will change for several games on each matchweek when television companies make their broadcast selections.
