Tide of Love introduces a contractual bond between two strangers in its premiere episode

Tide of Love centers on two men brought together by a contract set against a quiet seaside backdrop. Han Jae-hun, a wealthy heir who masks his pain with a distant demeanor, enters an arranged living situation with Kim Hae-jun, an art student weighed down by life’s pressures.

Their relationship begins purely as a transaction, yet daily proximity creates a gradual shift. Small, unspoken acts of care reveal their loneliness, and a gentle bond starts to form even as the terms of the contract keep them guarded.

Despite this emerging closeness, the contract sets limits they hesitate to cross. As emotions deepen and long-held secrets come to light, both are forced to confront the restrictions that bind them and the choices they must make about their relationship.

As per GagaOOLala, the narrative also incorporates a BDSM element, exploring a forbidden connection shaped by themes of control, obedience, and possession. Kim Hyeon-seo takes on the role of Kim Hae-jun, while Jung Myeong-cheol portrays Han Jae-hun.

The episode 1 of the series opens with Kim Hae-jun arriving at the home of Han Jae-hun. Kim Hae-jun is an art student facing a difficult situation at home. His mother is seriously ill, and he urgently needs money to pay for her surgery.

Kim Hae-jun’s professor provides him with a job lead, which turns out to be entering a contract relationship with Han Jae-hun. Upon arriving at the house, Han Jae-hun presents him with the written agreement.

Kim Hae-jun reads through the terms and, thinking about his mother’s condition and the required medical expenses, decides to accept the offer. He signs the contract, which promises him 2,000 dollars per night, marking the beginning of their contractual relationship.
