Barcelona fans online were left disappointed with Ferran Torres starting in their UEFA Champions League clash against Club Brugge in the league phase on November 5. Torres is usually employed as a striker in the absence of Robert Lewandowski.

Hansi Flick's starting XI against Club Brugge features multiple usual starters. Wojciech Szczesny starts at the goal. The backline includes Alejandro Balde, Eric Garcia, Ronald Araujo, and Jules Kounde. Frenkie de Jong, Fermin Lopez, and Marc Casado form the midfield. The attacking lineup features Marcus Rashford, Ferran Torres, and Lamine Yamal.

Fans took to X to react to the Barcelona starting XI, with multiple users being upset about Ferran Torres' inclusion. One X user wrote:

"Whats Flick obsession with Ferran?"

@ReshadFCB Whats Flick obssession with Ferran?

Many Culers agreed and weighed in on the lineup:

Flick please stop this Ferran nonsense and Garcia CB PLEASE!!!!

@ReshadFCB Tired of this nonsense Ferran Torres

please stop with this ferran bs bro fuckkkkkkkk

Fans continued to share their thoughts on Torres' inclusion, especially since Robert Lewandowski is in the squad. The Pole is freshly available after an injury break.

@FCBarcelona Ferran?? Watch him score today just to confuse us all over again. He’s garbage to be a starter for fcbarcelona

@FCBarcelona Lewy is back !!! Stop starting Ferran Torres

@FCBarcelona Flick thank you and good luck. If he wants to play with the hopeless Ferran when you have having a healthy Lewandowski, it means that he has no realistic approach to the game at all.

In an interview via Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona superstar Robert Lewandowski spoke about multiple injuries at the club that have hampered their performance this season. The Catalans have multiple key players missing, including Raphinha, Pedri, and Dani Olmo. Lewandowski himself was out due to injuries before making his return vs Elche on Sunday.

"Generally, it’s a bit like what the manager said, that there’s a lack of stability with the players, that we’ve had injuries. Last year, we were playing at our best, and repeating that this season isn’t easy," Lewandowski said (via Barca Universal)

He added:

"It’s not easy, now it starts from scratch, but we’re eager, we want to win matches, and sometimes it doesn’t matter how, but we have to win matches. In the end, I’m sure we’ll be back to our best and we’ll win convincingly. If we play strong, we can win titles."

The Barcelona striker also spoke about his own injury, claiming that he's feeling better than before. While Lewandowski did not feature as a starter vs Club Brugge, he could come off the bench in the second half to make a difference. Hansi Flick appears to be cautious with the Pole's return, given that he's fresh out of injury.

"At the end of the season, I had some problems, but now I’m fine. When you have a lot of games in a season, it’s important to be at your best at the end. I’ve had two injuries, but I’ve been working really well in the last two weeks, and now I’m at a high level. From my experience, I’m calm, and I know I can help the team," Lewandowski said.

Barcelona will do their best to finish within the first eight places in the UEFA Champions League to directly qualify for the Round of 16. After being knocked out of the semi-final last season, the Catalans will be desperate to win the UCL this season.
