When U-yeon returns home, she finds Gi-jeong standing in front of her building, drenched from the rain, waiting for her. Seeing his state, she realizes something must have happened and understands that he hasn’t intentionally stand her up.
Gi-jeong rushes to her, flustered, apologizing over and over, explaining that he fell asleep and no one woke him. He is devastated about missing their meeting. Instead of being angry, U-yeon worries that he might catch a cold and tells him to take medicine.

He tells her simply, because he just likes her. She asks why he likes her, and he replies, “I just do.” Then he asks if she likes him back. U-yeon is flustered and unable to respond. Episode 6 of Spirit Fingers begins right where episode 5 has ended. Gi-jeong suggesting that maybe they should kiss. U-yeon, overwhelmed and embarrassed, refuses and runs off. Afterwards, she is confused and conflicted unsure why she reacts that way and questioning why he even wants to kiss her.
She still doesn’t believe that he truly likes her, because of her insecurities and low self-esteem. Later, U-yeon discusses the situation with her girlfriends. They tell her that she should have tested her feelings toward him instead of running away, leaving her even more confused.
As days go by, they continue to hang out as friends, though there’s an awkward tension between them. Gi-jeong grows restless and confides in his own friends, who advise him to act cool and distant. At the next Spirit Fingers meeting, he follows their advice and ignores U-yeon, behaving coldly.
However, the act doesn’t last long. Two girls at the road start gossiping, calling U-yeon ugly and saying someone like her can never be with a guy as handsome as Gi-jeong. U-yeon, angered by their comments, stands up for herself and tells them that he is the one pursuing her, not the other way around. The girls don’t believe it.
Still from Spirit Fingers (Image via X/@tvingdotcom)Gi-jeong overhears the argument and immediately steps in, defending her and shouting, at them for messing with 'his woman'. U-yeon tells him to confirm in front of them that it’s true that he’s the one pursuing her. Without hesitation, he admits it proudly.
This moment exposes his true feelings again but also intensifies U-yeon’s inner conflict. She starts to believe that being with him will only make people mock her, questioning how someone like her can be with someone like him. Gi-jeong feels bad and apologizes, insisting that she’s beautiful, not ugly, and that she shouldn’t let others’ words affect her. But U-yeon refuses to believe him.
Soon after, her midterm results come out, and she performs well. Her newfound confidence helps her achieve this, so she finally gathers the courage to ask her mother for permission to officially join Spirit Fingers. Her mother, however, dismisses the idea, saying that only people who have been talented since childhood can become true artists. She tells U-yeon not to waste her time on such things.
This time, U-yeon doesn’t stay silent. She stands up for herself, demanding to know why her mother never supports her dreams. For the first time, she confronts her mother directly, shocking her.
Overwhelmed by emotion, U-yeon locks herself in her room and cries while her mother bangs on the door, asking her to come out and talk. Her little brother, a young prodigy, witnesses everything and grows worried that his sister might run away.
Still from Spirit Fingers (Image via X/@tvingdotcom)Meanwhile, Gi-jeong, unable to reach U-yeon over the phone, becomes increasingly anxious. Fearing for her, he comes to her building and falls asleep in his sleeping bag outside her apartment.
The next morning, U-yeon leaves early for school before her mother wakes up. Her little brother sees her and makes her promise to return home right after school and not to run away. She reassures him that she won’t.
However, her eyes are swollen from crying all night. When she steps outside, she spots Gi-jeong asleep under her building. She wakes him up, surprised and touched.
Gi-jeong immediately notices her puffy eyes and worries, asking who has made her cry, promising to make them cry instead. Hearing this, U-yeon breaks down again, touched by his concern.
Seeing her cry, Gi-jeong is momentarily speechless. He gently leans forward and kisses her tear-stained eyes to comfort her. At that moment, episode 6 of Spirit Fingers comes to an end.
