Destiny 2 in 2026 is going to be interesting for several reasons. Players do not know where the game is heading from a content and a narrative perspective, while the developers have the massive task of delivering unique expansions to keep their playerbase intact. With the dawn of a new year, there are a few things that can be predicted for the future, and a few that are still under wraps.

This article lists everything you can expect from Destiny 2 in 2026.

Everything you can expect from Destiny 2 in 2026

To start off, it should be noted that Renegades' only major update, Shadow & Order, will be released on March 2026, something that we already knew from the start. The update is expected to bring in new activities and weapons, alongside the Guardian Games annual event in the same month.

Note that Shadow & Order is also rumored to bring in a Pantheon 2.0, similar to Into the Light update from last year, with a boss gauntlet invoilving older Raids such as SOTP, Crown of Sorrow, and much more.

Shadow & Order will be the final update of "Year of Prophecy," as the game will be heading to Codename Shattered Cycle and The Alchemist expansions for Summer and Winter of 2026 respectively.

Regarding weekly events, players can expect Arms Week in during mid or late January 2026, alongside a Call to Arms event during a mid-season update in April 2026.

Official release date for Iron Banner and Heavy Metal remains unknown.

Lastly, regarding the official names of the upcoming expansion and the long-term plans for Destiny 2, we can all only wait for Bungie to provide more details. This article will be updated with more information once they become official.
