Buffalo Sabres fans are waiting anxiously for news.
Colton Parayko is supposed to be coming to the Sabres in a big trade with the St. Louis Blues, but the deal hasn't been finalized yet.
TSN's Darren Dreger reports that the Sabres would send prospect Radim Mrtka and a first-round pick back to St. Louis.
At least, that's if the deal goes through at all.

What's happening with Colton Parayko?
As of early Thursday morning, the Sabres appear to be in a holding pattern. Parayko has a no-move clause and has yet to waive it to allow the deal's completion.
The Athletic's Jeremy Rutherford wrote this on X after the Blues' game late Wednesday in Seattle:
"Parayko did come to the game tonight and was seen walking out of the locker room afterwards. But again, to my knowledge, no official decision has been made on waiving his NTC to Buffalo. The Blues are staying in SEA tonight, flying to SJ tomorrow, and scheduled to be off."
While most indications have been that this will go through, there was one concerning report out of Canadian radio on Wednesday:
“This reporting is a little premature. I’m not suggesting it’s not happening, but he has a no-trade clause, and I’d imagine that’s a big part of it.”@andystrickland shares the latest on the Sabres’ reported deal for Blues defenceman Colton Parayko with @RealKyper and @jtbourne. pic.twitter.com/4MVpU7uNca
— Sportsnet 590 The FAN (@FAN590) March 4, 2026Parayko has been with the Blues his whole career. He likely has to come to grips with the idea of leaving.
The Sabres clearly wanted him, offering a strong package to the Blues. And now it's up to what Parayko wants to do.
The NHL trade deadline is Friday at 3 p.m. ET, and it appears Parayko isn't in any rush.
