Kit Harington has opened up about potentially featuring in the upcoming Harry Potter series. The actor has already shared his voice on the Audible audiobooks for the franchise.
The Audible audiobook series of the Harry Potter series is currently ongoing, and two parts have been released so far. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was released on November 4, while Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets came out on December 16.
Kit Harington features in the latest part and voices the character of Gilderoy Lockhart, the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. The cast also includes other stellar names like Matthew Macfadyen (Voldemort), Kiera Knightley (Dolores Umbridge), and Hugh Laurie (Dumbledore), among others.
Kit Harington recently spoke about his admiration for the Harry Potter series in an interview with Variety, published on December 16. When asked what character he would like to play in the HBO live-action series of the franchise, he said:
"I’d take on any of them. I’ll be a background extra, I don’t care. I would love to be in that."HBO has announced that it is making a live-action series of Harry Potter, which will feature each book as one season. The show has been written by Gardiner, who is also one of the executive producers. Mylod will direct a few episodes, while J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman are the other executive producers.
HBO has also confirmed most of the casting for the series. Dominic McLaughlin has been cast for the role of Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton will play Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout will play Ron Weasley. John Lithgow will play Albus Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu will play Severus Snape, and Nick Frost has been cast as Hagrid, among others.

He said that he prefers them over the movies. He added that he would certainly read these books to his kids. Kit Harington said:
"I’m a big book nerd. I never really got into the movies so much. I did watch them, but I didn’t come to it through them. I loved the books when I was growing up. I was one of those people who was given the book — I was 11 and Harry was 11. I grew up with them. Then they kind of left my life for a bit as I got older. Then I rediscovered them through the audiobooks with Stephen Fry." "I’ve gone to bed every evening for the past six or seven years listening to them just on notation, and it’s a kind of sleep aid for me. I know them like the back of my hand. I’m a complete nerd for the books," he added.When asked which one was his favorite book, Kit Harington answered:
"Probably Half-Blood Prince."Harington also said that he couldn't audition for the Harry Potter movies because he was "a bit too old" at the time.
