The Minnesota Vikings have ended up with Kyler Murray, like most expected.
But in recent days, there had been rumors involving the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Los Angeles Rams, too.
The news emerged Thursday evening that Murray is going to Minnesota after his release from the Arizona Cardinals:
Former Cardinals QB Kyler Murray is signing a one-year deal with the Vikings, per sources. Murray now will become part of a QB room that includes former No. 10 overall pick J.J. McCarthy.

It makes a lot of sense for Murray to choose the Vikings. He'll be the favorite to win the starting job there over J.J. McCarthy.
The rumors in recent days involving the Rams and Steelers were pointing to 2027.
The idea had been that Murray would be willing to go sit somewhere for a year as a backup in a good system behind a veteran (Matthew Stafford or Aaron Rodgers), then conceptually take over when the QB in front of him retires.
It was a path always with some risk and potential for downside for Murray.
Instead, he chooses the Vikings' high-powered roster that was just in need of a quarterback.
For the Rams and Steelers, it simply means they don't have an heir apparent at QB yet.
