The Miami Dolphins have been undergoing some major changes this offseason so far, and the most notable changes have come on offense with the departures of Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill.
But the Dolphins are going even further to shake up the roster. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, they're trading Jaylen Waddle, their top remaining wide receiver, to the Denver Broncos.
After this blockbuster trade, the Dolphins' WR depth chart looks a whole lot different. But, it's also now a major need, as this Waddle deal likely makes the Dolphins' WR room the worst in the NFL.
Dolphins WR depth chart after Jaylen Waddle trade is ugly
With Waddle now headed to the Broncos, bringing back a first-rounder, third-rounder, and a fourth-round pick swap, the Dolphins' wide receiver room is in a very bad spot.
Currently slotted into the starting lineup are Jalen Tolbert, Tutu Atwell, and Malik Washington. Of those three, only Washington is a returning player. None of these options is a top target. At best, they're WR3s.
Behind those three are Terrace Marshall Jr., Theo Wease Jr., Tahj Washington, and AJ Henning. It's a bleak WR room with Waddle and Hill gone.
More: Dolphins agree to $67.5 million deal with Malik Willis
If it wasn't clear before, it's especially clear now: the Dolphins desperately need to add a wide receiver to the team this offseason.
But, with well north of $100 million in dead cap hits impacting the Dolphins' books, they will need to be very creative when it comes to finding wide receiver help.
Whether it's at 11th overall or their new first-round pick at 30th overall, the Broncos will need to find a way to bring in wide receiver help this offseason for cheap.
Unfortunately for Malik Willis, he's going to have to deal with a weaker wide receiver room in the wake of this blockbuster Waddle trade.
