What happened to Mike Evans? Buccaneers WR goes down injured on MNF

10 hours ago 3

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers simply can't catch a break with it comes to injuries as the NFC South franchise was locked in a tight battle with the Detroit Lions, more injury news has happened.

With Mike Evans and Emeka Egbuka both returning to the team this week after dealing with hamstring injuries, the pair were thought to be crucial parts of the game plan, but both were held in check and in the second quarter, perhaps the worst thing imaginable happened - Evans got injured again.

Chasing a long bomb from Baker Mayfield, Evans actually caught the ball as he made a superb diving catch, but he took a lot time to get up off the ground. While many thought it was his hamstring injury, we did notice that on replay, his head appeared to hit the ground rather hard.

So, it might be a potential concussion for Evans and the ESPN broadcast with Laura Rutledge confirmed Evans is out with a concussion. Mayfield will now be without one of his best weapons yet again, and down 14-0, that isn't a great spot to be.

Evans injury a monster blow for Buccaneers

On the ESPN broadcast, we heard Evans was in "excruciating pain" as the receiver was on a cart and seemingly headed towards the locker room, and the hole that the Buccaneers were in, just got bigger.

It now leaves Egbuka, Sterling Shepard, Tez Johnson, and Kameron Johnson to fly the flag for Tampa Bay, because going but what we have heard and seen on the ESPN broadcast, Evans won't be returning.

The Buccaneers knew how big this game was for them in regards to the playoffs, and with the offense struggling to get anything going at all, and now with Evans out, it is all going south in a hurry for Tampa Bay in a game where it feels like it is getting overrun.
