Sean Dyche's opening five games as Nottingham Forest manager

Sean Dyche is set to be immediately thrown into work at Nottingham Forest after being confirmed as the club's new manager.

The Premier League club parted ways with Ange Postecoglou right after Saturday's 3-0 loss to Chelsea (October 18), despite only hiring the ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss in September.

Dyche was officially unveiled as Postecoglou's replacement on Tuesday morning (October 21), putting pen to paper on a deal until summer 2027.

Forest were also linked with a potentials swoop for former Manchester City and Italy manager Roberto Mancini, but the club opted for Dyche as he was deemed a more suitable fit according to The Athletic.

The 54-year-old returns to the dugout nine months after being dismissed as the Everton manager.

While Dyche will be keen to implement his style at Forest swiftly, he is unlikely to get much time on the training ground in the coming weeks.

The club have commitments domestically and in Europe before next month's international break arrives, when players will be jetting off around the world to represent their nations.

Hence, it is imperative that Dyche hits the ground running from a results perspective.

Dyche's first 5 games in charge at Forest:

FC Porto - Europa League: October 21 (h) KO: 20:00

Dyche's first game as Forest boss arrives just over 48 hours after his appointment, as his new side will take on Porto in the Europa League. A good result is needed at the City Ground on Thursday night as Forest have picked up just two points in their European campaign so far this season.

Bournemouth - Premier League: October 26 (a) KO: 14:00

High-flying Bournemouth will be Dyche's first Premier League opponents in his new job. Andoni Iraola's side currently sit joint-third in the league table, so are likely to present a tough opening domestic match for Dyche.

Manchester United - Premier League: November 1 (h) KO: 15:00

Manchester United will serve as the opponents in Dyche's first Premier League home game in charge at Forest. Ruben Amorim's side are slowly picking up confidence after successive league wins over Sunderland and Liverpool, respectively.

SK Sturm Graz - Europa League: November 6 (a) KO: 17:45

Dyche will get his first taste away in Europe as Forest boss when the team travels to Austria to face SK Sturm Graz in the Europa League.

Leeds United - Premier League: November 9 (h) KO: 14:00

Forest's final game before the November international break will see them face Daniel Farke's Leeds United side at the City Ground. As the fixture follows a European away trip, Dyche may have to rotate his squad around for this particular game.
