The third major of the PGA season takes place this weekend in Southampton, New York — the U.S. Open is officially here.
Back for the 126th year, the major tournament returns to Shinnecock Hills Golf Club starting Thursday. The Long Island club is historically one of the toughest courses on the circuit, with only three golfers finishing with scores under par in five previous U.S. Opens at the grounds.
Brooks Koepka won the most recent U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills in 2018, securing back-to-back titles with a score of one over. This weekend though, all eyes will be on world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler as he has another chance at a career Grand Slam, despite a recent drought of 11 winless starts.
