It's officially time for 2026 MLB All-Star week, and a beloved event will be returning Monday — the Home Run Derby.
While the premise remains the same, this year's Derby will have a brand-new format, which is expected to benefit both participants and fans. Instead of competing within a time limit, sluggers will be allotted a set number of swings per round, with no bracket or bonus round included in the structure.
Four batters stepped up immediately and confirmed to be competing: Wilson Contreras (Red Sox), Jac Caglianone (Royals), Ben Rice (Yankees) and Junior Caminero (Rays). Jordan Walker (Cardinals) has also since been confirmed.
The Mariners' Cal Raleigh won the 2025 competition, defeating Caminero in the final round to become the first-ever catcher to win the event. Who will be victorious this year?
