The defending national champs are headed back to the Women's College World Series. No. 2 Texas and No. 8 Tennessee will go head-to-head Thursday.
After breezing through regionals and defeating Arizona State 2-1 in the super regional round, Texas will return to the WCWS stage like it never left. Though the Longhorns and Vols are familiar foes in the SEC, this series will mark the first time the two meet this season.
This matchup will surely bring up some familiar scars for the Lady Vols, who lost to Texas in the WCWS semifinals last year to end their season. Tennessee has often fallen into the losers' bracket in this tournament, but if Karlyn Pickens & Co. can stay in the winners', they could make a much longer campaign.
