No. 3 Notre Dame already has a pair of wins over Big Ten opponents on its resume and will look to add a third Saturday as it travels to Purdue.
The Irish (3-0) pounded Wisconsin at Lambeau Field in the opener and used a strong second half to get by Michigan State at home last week. Now they head to West Lafayette for their first true road game of the campaign.
CJ Carr has looked good early on for the Irish, completing 72.6 of his passes for 726 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions. But Notre Dame's defense has been key, pitching a second-half shutout last week against the Spartans and holding opponents to 193 yards per game overall.
Purdue (1-2) will make for an interesting test there, as the Boilers are averaging 39.3 points and 488.7 yards per game. Veteran QB Ryan Browne has been stellar and already has 1,024 passing yards along with seven TDs, while running back Fame Ijeboi is averaging 82.7 per game on the ground and has scored six times.
