No. 18 Michigan and No. 17 Iowa enter Saturday's showdown in the Big House unbeaten, but plenty of questions remain about both.
The Wolverines have had one of the more perplexing starts of any power team, starting with the controversial win (that perhaps should not have been) against Western Michigan, followed by an upset of an Oklahoma team that also has become tough to figure and then a blowout of UTEP.
It's difficult to know how good Michigan really is at this point, but matchups like this provide a good measuring stick — even if the Hawkeyes may be in a similar spot.
Iowa has blown out Northern Illinois and Northern Iowa by a combined score of 95-0 while squeaking out a 16-13 triumph over rival Iowa State. How all of that translates to the meat of the Big Ten schedule remains to be seen, but the Hawkeyes will have plenty of confidence heading in after racking up 422 rushing yards and 32 first downs against UNI last week.
