MACtion isn't just for Tuesday and Wednesday nights in the fall.
No. 23 Miami (Ohio) finally gets a chance to show the country what it's about with a nationally televised game Friday night against longtime rival Ohio U.
The RedHawks (24-0) are the last unbeaten team in the nation after top-ranked Arizona fell to Kansas on Monday, though they have plenty of doubters thanks to their unimposing schedule. The NCAA's NET rankings have them at No. 51 and their strength of schedule is 312th among the 365 Division I teams according to KenPom.
Still, getting this far in a wide-open college hoops season without a loss is an accomplishment, and coach Travis Steele's team will try to ride the wave as long as it can with March Madness approaching.
Fans watching the RedHawks for the first time should be entertained. They lead the nation at 92.7 points per game and have scored at least 100 in a game seven times while making an NCAA-best 53.7% of their shots from the field. It isn't just one guy, either. Six Miami players average in double figures, with Brant Byers leading the way at 14.8 points per game.
Miami will be heavily favored in this one but has dropped 10 of its last 12 games against the Bobcats, who are 13-12 this season.
Can the RedHawks keep rolling or will the Bobcats pull the upset? Here's how to tune in to all the action.
