With all the powerhouses in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, the best story might be the underdog Italy.
Placed in a group with the United States and Mexico, the Italians finished the group stage unscathed, beating both teams in Houston en route to a 4-0 record, taking first place in Group B. Behind Vinnie Pasquantino, Aaron Nola, Jac Caglione and co., Francisco Cervelli's team has been the center of attention this tournament.
Now, the Italians will face another World Baseball Classic mainstay in the quarterfinals, when they face Puerto Rico. Yadier Molina's team, which played its group stage in San Juan, finished second in Group A with a 3-1 record. Led by Nolan Arenado, Eddie Rosario and Edwin Diaz, the Puerto Ricans are one of the threats to win it all.
Who will move on to the semifinals? Will the Italians continue their undefeated run or will Puerto Rico take one step closer to the finals?
Here's everything you need to know for the game, from television channel to streaming options.
