It's Week 17 in the world of fantasy football, which means it is championship week in most leagues. After more than four months of grinding, it comes down to this. As the pressure ratchets up, long-term plays become short-term plays. All that matters is surviving the week.
To help managers take home a fantasy football championship, Sportskeeda has compiled a list of running backs you can trust, ranking them in order. The list takes into account season-long production, recent production and matchup. Take a look.

Week 17 Fantasy Football RB Picks

De'Von Achane vs TB
De'Von Achane has become the heartbeat of the offense in 2025, and in the penultimate game of the NFL regular season, he has a good matchup. Tampa Bay's defense has slipped back into its old ways across the board, and with Tua Tagovailoa on the bench, Achane should be featured more than usual.
If you have him on your fantasy football team, you should start him against Baker Mayfield's team without a second thought.
Bucky Irving @MIA
Bucky Irving hasn't had the best two-week stretch, but the running back's carries have been consistent. Irving has seen at least 15 rushes in each of his last four games since returning, putting him in line for plenty more against the Miami Dolphins.
Miami's rushing defense has allowed 100 yards on the ground in each of its last two games against running backs that many agree are less explosive than Irving.
Saquon Barkley @BUF
According to the Philadelphia Eagles' injury report, Saquon Barkley missed practice on Tuesday in Week 16 before seeing a typical workload in the contest. With the injury seemingly behind him and a leaky Buffalo Bills rushing defense on tap, Barkley is likely to produce plenty of touches.
The weather will be something to monitor, with rain expected. If there is precipitation, Barkley could see even more carries. If you want someone with a sky-high floor, go with the Eagles running back.
