Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson injured his back during his team's 28-24 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 16 on Sunday. Jackson, who went 7 of 10 for 101 yards, exited in the first half and was replaced by Tyler Huntley for the remainder of the game. Jackson left the field at a critical juncture, with the Ravens needing a win to remain in close contention for the playoffs. On Monday, Ravens coach John Harbaugh confirmed that Jackson suffered a back contusion and listed the QB as day-to-day.

Following Jackson's back injury, analyst Nick Wright appeared to raise alarms around the QB's commitment to the Ravens.

"Can I call it without people freaking out? Another weird injury thing with Lamar," Wright said on his "What's Wright" show on Wednesday. "What looked like a relatively banal play knocked him out for the most critical half of their season. Lamar is obviously tough, and obviously he's played through stuff, and he cares when he didn't go back in.

"I assumed that he broke his ribs. When Harbaugh came out yesterday and said, just a bad contusion, and he's day to day. I was stunned. It's very, very hard not to go to the other quarterbacks in Lamar's tax bracket and echelon and not ask yourself, do we think we wouldn't have seen them back on the field giving it a go, and then maybe, 'okay, this isn't gonna work.' I don't know."
