Proderics x melodybloom have released “true eyes,” a new single accompanied by an official music video. The track follows the duo’s previous single, “wasted time,” and takes their sound in a darker direction, with rock elements in the production.

Proderics said the song opened up a new sonic avenue for the pair. “’true eyes’ goes down a sonic avenue we haven’t been able to explore before, which excites me a lot. it’s a bit moodier and darker than our previous singles, so we had great fun during the creative process. i especially had fun bringing in some rockier elements into the production.” Melodybloom said betrayal shaped her writing: “While writing ‘true eyes,’ I had betrayal in mind and how jarring and devastating it can feel. The track takes us somewhere different from our previous releases, and we also drew inspiration from Linkin Park. The instrumentation is gritty and dark, while still holding onto the melancholic feeling that’s always been part of our music.”

The collaborators first met in March 2022 in a Discord community dedicated to PinkPantheress. Liverpool-born, Dublin-based producer proderics shared an early beat for “strangers,” prompting Philadelphia singer, songwriter and producer melodybloom to reach out with vocals. They built the track by exchanging ideas and recordings online. Released in 2024, “strangers” gained traction on TikTok and surpassed 100 million Spotify streams. The duo later issued “strangers (versions),” a three-track release featuring the original song alongside sped-up and slowed-down versions.
