Ludvig Aberg was pretty impressive in the opening round of the 2025 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. The Swedish golfer is playing this week on the DP World Tour event and started his game with a solid round of 4 under 68.
It was a tough start for the 26-year-old on the first few holes. However, after two bogeys and a birdie in the first seven holes, on the eighth, he had an amazing moment. He made a hole-in-one on the par 3.
The DP World Tour shared a video of Ludvig Aberg's impressive shot on its X (formerly Twitter) account.
Aberg started the campaign at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship with a birdie on the first hole and then added a bogey on the next. He made another bogey on the fourth but on the eighth added an eagle. On the back nine, he carded a birdie on the 11th, followed by another eagle on the par-5 12th and then a birdie on the next hole.
Ludvig Aberg called it for the day with an unfortunate bogey on the 18th. He is, at the time of writing, tied for 27th place. The tournament is still underway at the Yas Links Golf Club.
Tommy Fleetwood is having an impressive time playing in the event this week. He shot a round of 8 under 64. The field features big names such as Tyrrell Hatton, Matt Fitzpatrick, Rory McIlroy, Patrick Reed, and others.
Ludvig Aberg's odds to win the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship
Ludvig Aberg is one of the top favourite players to win the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. Per the odds shared by the DP World Tour on its official website, he is at 22/1 win odds. This season has been impressive for Aberg.
However, he is looking forward to his first win of the year at the DP World Tour event. On the PGA Tour in 2025, he won The Genesis Invitational. Meanwhile, on the European Tour, he played at the BMW PGA Championship and settled in a tie for 20th place.
Tommy Fleetwood is the top favourite to win the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, followed by Shane Lowry.
