Gabriel Bortoleto suffered a horrific crash at the 2025 Brazil GP Sprint as the Kick Sauber driver went airborne and slammed the barrier at high speed. Bortoleto suffered the crash nearing the end of the Sprint as he lost control of his car at Turn 1 of Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace.

Bortoleto was trying to pass Carlos Sainz of Williams, and in his effort to do so, he was a bit overambitious, and went on full send mode. As a result, he took too much speed into the corner and lost control.

Failing to control his Sauber, the home boy, who hails from Brazil went airborne and hit the fence. He reported on the radio that he was okay, and finished the race in P18.

Prior to this incident, three other drivers, Oscar Piastri, Nico Hulkenberg, and Franco Colapinto have suffered crashes. The aforementioned drivers lost control of their cars in Lap 5 of the sprint and retired from the race.

Piastri took too much kerb, lost control, and hit the barrier. On the other hand, Hulkenberg and Colapinto slipped on the wet track and hit the wall. While Piastri and Colapinto suffered DNF, the Kick Sauber crew sent Hulkenberg to the race.

Lando Norris of McLaren won the race, ahead of Mercedes duo Kimi Antonelli and George Russell. Reigning champion, Max Verstappen finished in fourth, ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.
