Team India celebrated star batter Tilak Varma's birthday after the T20I series against Australia. The Men in Blue played a five-match series Down Under. Tilak turned 23 on Saturday, November 8.
Mumbai Indians (MI), his IPL franchise, shared a video of his crazy birthday celebration on Instagram. Along with the players, the support staff was also present during the celebration.
Tilak Varma first took off his practice jersey and showed off his abs. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav then put some milkshake on his hair while other teammates applied some cake on his face. Tilak also did some bhangra before his face was smashed into another cake.
He then posed with his teammates for a picture. Suryakumar hilariously told him that his hair would get better due to the shake.
"Isse tera baal aur accha hoga bol raha hu (You are hair will become better because of this I am telling you)," he said.Watch the celebration below:
The fifth T20I was abandoned due to persistent rain on November 8. Therefore, India clinched the series 2-1. The first match was also washed out, while Australia won the second. However, the visitors bounced back with consecutive wins in the next two matches.
Tilak Varma's international numbers
Tilak Varma batted in just three innings in the Australia T20Is. He made 34 runs and did not have any significant performance. However, he has risen through the ranks in the format and proven his worth.
During the recently concluded Asia Cup 2025, he put up a stellar display, including an unbeaten match-winning 69 in the final against Pakistan. He scored 213 runs from six innings at an average of 71 and a strike-rate of 131.48.
Tilak made his T20I debut in 2023 against the West Indies. So far, he has featured in 36 matches. In 33 innings, he has scored 996 runs at an average of 47.42 and a strike-rate of 146.68. He has also struck two hundreds and four half-centuries.
The left-hander has also played four ODIs for India. He made his debut against Bangladesh in 2023. In four games, he has scored 68 runs with a half-century.
