Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and tight end Hunter Henry delivered a memorable celebration during New England's 28-24 win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. They recreated the iconic alley-oop image made famous by NBA superstars Dwyane Wade and LeBron James.

Maye lofted a touchdown pass to a wide-open Henry early in the second quarter. Confident in the result, the second-year quarterback turned his back to the end zone in celebration.

The image of Maye and Henry replicating the iconic pose of the former Miami Heat teammates went viral on social media.

Maye guided the Patriots to a 28-24 comeback win, overcoming an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit at M&T Bank Stadium. He completed 31 passes for 380 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, helping New England secure its first playoff berth since 2021.

The Patriots (12-3) also placed themselves in a strong position to claim the AFC’s No. 1 seed and get home-field advantage throughout the postseason.

They'll secure the AFC East title if they win over the Jets and the Bills lose to the Eagles in Week 17. New England last won the division in 2019.

Drake Maye continues to close in on Matthew Stafford as the favorite to win the MVP award

Matthew Stafford and Drake Maye have been the frontrunners for the NFL MVP award for the past few weeks. They remain the leading candidates after Week 16.

Stafford had one of his best games on Thursday even though the LA Rams lost to the Seattle Seahawks. He passed for 457 yards, three touchdowns and had a 110.7 rating.

Meanwhile, Maye guided the Patriots to a win on Sunday, further strengthening his MVP case.

Even with Stafford’s stellar individual performance, his MVP odds dipped to -225, according to BetMGM. Maye remains close behind at -165. Josh Allen and Trevor Lawrence are the other two in contention, with +2500 and +5000 odds.

Stafford and the Rams will close the season against the Falcons and the Cardinals, while Maye’s Patriots will take on the Jets and the Dolphins. Both quarterbacks are expected to finish strong, making it likely that one of them will be named MVP.
