Carlos Alcaraz was in the house to watch the match between Real Murcia and CE Sabadell. The Spanish star is from the Murcia region, and he often attends games of his hometown club at Estadio Nueva Condomina.
The match was a Primera Federación contest between Real Murcia and CE Sabadell. However, Alcaraz's hometown team, Real Murcia, lost the game 1-0. In the clip below, Alcaraz can be seen entering the stadium, going to his seat, and greeting locals there along the way.
According to local Spanish news, Alcaraz plans to attend Real Murcia’s Copa del Rey game against Real Betis, as he continues to turn up for matches of his hometown football club.

Carlos Alcaraz is closely associated with the sports community in Murcia. He was recently honored as the "Best Athlete of the Region of Murcia" at a local gala. The event was held at the Hotel Nelva in Murcia. His father, Carlos Alcaraz González, and his agent, Albert Molina, accompanied the World No. 1 to the event, where motorcyclist Ana Carrasco was recognized as the best female athlete.
Upon receiving the honor, he expressed pride and shared the importance of community to him.
“Being the best athlete in the Region is a great personal joy and something exciting and a pleasure to receive the award," Alcaraz said via LA Vanguardia. "Nobody gives anything away for free, and I have to earn it, even though this Community has a very high level of athletes.”Alcaraz won the US Open and Roland Garros in 2025, taking his Grand Slam tally to six despite being just 22. His number of ATP titles has increased to 24 now. Alcaraz, who ended the year with a loss to Jannik Sinner in the ATP Finals, is looking forward to the 2026 Australian Open, where he'll aim to win his first major title in Melbourne.
“I’m going to prepare myself physically and mentally, and my first big goal in 2026 will be the Australian Open because it will also be the first tournament I play. There, I’ll try to show a good level and win the title after having done quite well in previous years. There are other players who are better on hard courts, but I hope this year will be different for me,” Alcaraz said.Alcaraz has won every other major title two times each but has yet to go beyond the quarterfinal round in the Australian Open.
