Bo Bichette enjoyed a superb campaign in 2025. Batting .311 with 18 home runs and 94 RBIs, the infielder played a starring role as the Toronto Blue Jays' won their division, the AL East, for the first time since 2015.
Now a free agent, naturally, fans would love to see Bichette continue his stint with the Jays. However, as Toronto continue to be linked with a move for outfielder Kyle Tucker, there is a possibility that Tucker's acquisition leads to the organization letting Bichette walk.
If such a scenario were to occur, analyst Jon Morosi of MLB.com is of the opinion that former Blue Jays excecutive Alex Anthopoulos, now the Atlanta Braves' general manager, may try to sign Bichette. Valued at $3 billion, the Braves are the eighth-most valuable franchise in the major leagues, per Forbes.

Though chances are slim, the Blue Jays do have the means to go after both Bo Bichette and Kyle Tucker
On Monday's episode of "Toronto Sports Rush," insider Keegan Matheson explained why the Blue Jays can afford to pursue both Bo Bichette and Kyle Tucker. Chances of them employing such an approach, however, are slim.
"There's a world (where Toronto signs both Bo Bichette and Kyle Tucker). I don't think it's a likely world. I still don't think it's the world we'll end up living in," Matheson said on Toronto Sports Rush (Timestamp: 6:06). "This brings us to the part of the conversation with Rogers' ownership, who has a ton of cash. "I don't think that's really understood in a lot of American markets, or by a lot of American media. I don't know what the largest cell phone carrier in the States is, if it's AT&T or whatever. Imagine AT&T owned the Yankees."Further, Matheson explained how the Blue Jays' recent success has indirectly given the organization even deeper pockets than usual.
"Coming off that World Series run, the amount of eyeballs on this team, it could only help," Matheson added (Timestamp: 6:45). They were printing money for all of September and all of October. All of those people who came to games, people who are shopping for Christmas presents right now, buying Vladdy jerseys, George Springer jerseys, buying ALCS hats, all this money eventually ends up in one place, and that's with ownership. "They have already been a high-spending team. Now, more than ever in this team's history, they should be emboldened to spend big."
