Breaking through to become a reliable contributor for a Golden State Warriors roster with serious title aspirations has never been easy for any of the team's former second-round draft picks.
Golden State's former No. 52 overall selection in the 2024 NBA Draft, Quinten Post, is the latest to valiantly attempt to earn more of a role within the team's present plans, and a breakout 12-point, eight-rebound performance against James Harden, Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers in a 98-79 home victory on Tuesday did plenty to boost his case for more minutes.
The 25-year-old second-year center certainly put on an impressive performance on both ends of the floor. However, the highlight of his night arguably came during his post-game media availability late Tuesday night, when he showed no signs of complacency following his first productive outing of the young season.
"This is game five, and to be honest, I haven't felt like I've really made an impact in any of the previous four games," Post shared with ClutchPoints' Kenzo Fukuda after the win against Los Angeles.
"Personally, it felt to help (the team) win the game tonight, it kind of shows that we're a deep team and we have strength in numbers."
After his best game so far in 2025-26, Post's season averages improved to 3.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 0.6 blocks in just 13.4 minutes, and the reveal of his never-satisfied mindset should encourage the Warriors' coaching staff that more is to come from the Dutch floor-spacer.
Though Post believes he may not have had the best start to the year, he's still exceeding expectations as a lights-out 41.7% three-point shooter on 2.4 attempts through five games and becoming a more reliable option on pick-and-fade actions with each passing contest.
While trying to prove that he belongs next to Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green either as Golden State's starting center or in a highly-prioritized reserve role, Post was able to turn heads with a stellar outing against the Clippers and improve his argument for increased usage this season.
