Warriors could be in market to land former MVP, 34 ppg scoring center to pair with Curry

The Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry have gotten off to a hot start to begin the season.

Five games in, and they have an impressive 4-1 record.

One issue the team has always faced is its rebounding and lack of a true, skilled center.

Kevon Looney, as well as many others, floated around, filling the gap for the team.

At the time, it was enough because Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and the rest of the team handled most of the load.

Now, with the roster looking much different and Father Time playing a factor, they may need a center with a bigger presence.

Joel Embiid happens to be easing back into his role with the Philadelphia 76ers, and may be the perfect option for the Dubs.

Right now, without Paul George, Tyrese Maxey has led the team to a 4-0 record, averaging 37.5 points per game.

Embiid has been limited to around twenty minutes per contest, and fans aren’t sure what to make of his small stints so far this season.

Nonetheless, the team has held their own with or without him on the court.

Embiid has always been injury-prone, but is borderline unstoppable when he is playing at his best.

In the 2022-2023 season, Embiid won the Most Valuable Player award and averaged 34.7 points with 11 rebounds and 5.6 assists.

His ability to create either on the block or around the free-throw line is unbelievable.

He holds an exceptional handle for a seven-footer and is extremely effective out of a pick-and-roll, which would be exceptional alongside Curry.

A trade like this would only be possible when Jonathan Kuminga becomes tradable on January 15th.

It would likely be Moses Moody, Draymond Green, Kuminga, and lots of draft capital, depending on how each team values Embiid.

Right now, the 76ers seem to have things under control, and the rookie V.J. Edgecombe has been outstanding.

It may be time for “the process” to join another team, and that team should be the Golden State Warriors.
