AJ Styles sent a message directed at Vince McMahon, stating that the former WWE Chairman had no idea about Styles' work from Japan.

During his time in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Styles became the new leader of the Bullet Club, replacing Finn Balor (Prince Devitt), who was on his way to the WWE at the time. The Phenomenal One also became the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion.

On X, Styles reacted to his own quote, reflecting on how his experience in Japan helped him improve as a professional wrestler. The former WWE Champion added that he wanted to be the same guy he was in Japan, the one that McMahon had no idea about.

"Vince wanted a pit bull. I just needed to be the guy I was in Japan. The one he had no idea existed." wrote Styles.

AJ Styles wants to retire on his own terms

AJ Styles has confirmed that he will retire from Professional Wrestling in 2026. He faced and lost to John Cena at Crown Jewel: Perth in one of Cena's final matches as a professional wrestler.

Styles has already confirmed that he will step away from the business next year. Speaking on Undisputed, he said:

"I’ve had a tremendous time in professional wrestling. Not many people can say they love their job. I do. It’s going to suck when it’s over. But that’s always been my ultimate goal—to retire on my own terms,"

Styles bounced back quite nicely from his loss to Cena. He captured the WWE World Tag Team Championships with Dragon Lee. The duo defeated The Judgment Day's Finn Balor and JD McDonagh, ending their second reign as champions.

The rematch between the two tag teams has been set for next week's RAW. Styles and Lee will hope for a first successful title defense.
