India captain Harmanpreet Kaur has celebrated the Women in Blue’s World Cup 2025 triumph with a special tattoo on her left bicep. The final took place on Sunday, November 2, at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, where India delivered a brilliant performance to defeat South Africa by 52 runs after posting 298 on the board. The victory marked India’s first-ever Women’s World Cup title.

On Wednesday, November 5, Harmanpreet Kaur shared a post on Instagram revealing her new tattoo featuring the World Cup trophy, the year 2025, and the number 52, representing the margin of India’s win. She captioned the post:

“Forever etched in my skin and my heart. Waited for you since Day1 and now I will see you every morning and be grateful.”

Meanwhile, the celebrations are set to continue as the squad will be felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi later today in Delhi.

As India clinched their maiden World Cup title on November 2, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur shared her thoughts during the post-match presentation, saying [as quoted by ESPNcricinfo]:

“Every time, after every World Cup, we were always discussing crossing that line. In the last two years, Amol sir was with the team and he was always telling us to come up with something special, and to keep preparing for the big occasion. We should give credit to the support staff and the BCCI.” “We did not make too many changes (to our squad), and they really invested in us, and because of everyone, we are standing here. This is the start. We wanted to break this barrier. And our next plan is to make this a habit. We were waiting for it. Now this moment has come. So many big occasions are coming, and we want to keep improving. This is not the end, just the beginning,” she added.

Meanwhile, India’s Shafali Verma was named Player of the Match in the summit clash, while Deepti Sharma received the Player of the Tournament award.
