Here are this week's candidates for The Sporting News Northern California high school football Player of the Week for Week Eight (Oct. 13-19). Our NorCal Player of the Week voting is open to players from the CIF's Northern, North Coast, Central, Central Coast, Sac-Joaquin, Oakland, and San Francisco Sections. Read up on the candidates below and vote as many times as you'd like before 11:59 p.m. Sunday. The results will be announced in the following days.

Meet the candidates for Week 8 NorCal Player of the Week

Isaac Anderson, American Canyon: Anderson turned three carries into 78 yards and two touchdowns plus a 39-yard catch and game-high 11 tackles to help the Wolves beat Petaluma 35-14.

Dougie Andrews, Merced: Andrews ran for 89 yards and three touchdowns and made a 22-yard reception as the Bears trounced El Capitan (Merced) 63-6.

Titus Andrus, Pleasant Valley: Andrus rushed for 252 yards and two touchdowns to push the Vikings past rival Chico 16-7.

Wes Burford, Oakdale: Burford recorded 290 yards and five touchdowns rushing, three rushing conversions, a 27-yard pass completion, seven tackles, one tackle for loss, and three QB-hurries to lead Oakdale to a 60-46 win against Central Catholic.

Cash Byington, Sonora (Sonora): Byington went off for 177 yards and three touchdowns on just eight carries, a 70-yard touchdown catch, and team-highs of 10 tackles and seven solo tackles as the Wildcats defeated Ripon 46-20.

George Chaput, St. Vincent de Paul: Chaput had a 62-yard touchdown catch, six tackles, two TFLs, and a forced fumble as the Mustangs blew out Analy 49-0.

Gunner Church, West Valley: Church ran for 158 yards and two touchdowns on just five carries, threw a 38-yard touchdown pass, and grabbed a 31-yard touchdown catch in a 48-20 win against Central Valley. 

Caleb Clark, Arroyo Grande: Clark ran for 155 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries with a 32-yard touchdown catch and six tackles to help Arroyo Grande upset St. Joseph (Santa Maria) 30-7.

Jordan Cole, Inderkum: Cole made six catches for 121 yards and three touchdowns to lift the Tigers past previously-unbeaten Woodcreek 38-35.

Jordan Crisp, Tulare Union: Crisp tossed for 475 yards and five touchdowns to one pick on 16-19 completion (84.2%) to guide the Tribe to a 78-0 annihilation of Mission Oak.

Tyler Cunningham, Templeton: Cunningham recorded 222 yards and three touchdowns rushing, a 23-yard receiving touchdown, a 54-yard kickoff return, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in Templeton's 48-7 rout of San Luis Obispo.

James Curoso, Clovis: Curoso ran for 192 yards and two touchdowns, had an 11-yard catch, and made five tackles, two TFLs, and 1.5 sacks to help the Cougars beat Clovis East 42-15. 

Ilan Davis, Hamilton (Hamilton): Davis ran for 108 yards, a touchdown, and a two-point conversion, snagged a 34-yard touchdown catch, recorded five tackles and a sack, and forced a fumble as the Braves routed Williams 42-0.

Eli Dukes, Palma: Dukes ran wild for 325 yards and four touchdowns to get the Chieftains past Salinas in overtime by a score of 42-41.

Jaiden Flores, King's Academy: Flores led King's Academy to a 28-14 win against San Mateo with four catches for 115 yards and a touchdown plus six tackles and an interception.

Kaleb Flournoy, Corning: Flournoy turned eight carries into 180 yards and three touchdowns and made 10 tackles including a sack as the Cardinals beat Live Oak (Live Oak) 42-14.

Jack Freehill, Menlo: Freehill completed 13 of 21 passes (61.9%) for 214 yards and two touchdowns with no picks and ran seven times for 50 yards and two touchdowns in the Knights' 49-6 blowout of Palo Alto.

Isaiah Harrison, Pittsburg: Harrison ran for 109 yards and a touchdown, made three catches for 62 yards and a touchdown, and recorded seven tackles and a TFL as Pittsburg defeated Liberty (Brentwood) 29-12.

Jeovanni Henley, Serra (San Mateo): Henley helped the Padres defeat Saint Francis (Mountain View) 41-28 with 86 yards and two touchdowns on just five carries, team-highs of eight tackles and six solo tackles, two TFLs including a sack, two pass break-ups, and a fumble recovery.

Diego Hernandez, St. Mary's (Stockton): Hernandez ran for 97 yards and three touchdowns to power the Rams to a 44-27 win over Edison (Stockton) for No. 1 in the TCAL standings.

Jayven Hernandez, Wasco: Hernandez helped lead Wasco to a 56-0 evisceration of Taft (Taft) with 101 yards and a touchdown on 4-5 completion (80%) to go with two carries for 92 yards and two touchdowns.

Cameren Hubler, Antioch: Hubler lifted the Panthers to a 25-14 win against Deer Valley with two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown, plus a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Austin Jorge, Pierce: Jorge completed six of nine passes (66.7%) for three touchdowns and 99 yards without an interception, ran for a touchdown, made a tackle for loss, and grabbed two interceptions in a 42-0 beatdown of Willows.

Nikko Juarez, Manteca: Juarez rushed for 180 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Buffaloes to a 56-20 win against East Union.

Prescott Langer, Ferndale: Langer spearheaded Ferndale's 72-0 domination of Arcata with six carries for 54 yards and two touchdowns, a 35-yard touchdown catch, two TFLs, and an interception.

Gavin Lavoie, Sutter: Lavoie registered team-highs of nine tackles, five solo tackles, six tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, three QB-hurries, and a forced fumble as the Huskies crushed Natomas 67-0.

Matteo Lortie, Livermore: Lortie steered the Cowboys to a 31-7 victory over Redwood Christian with 287 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions on 22-31 completion (71%) plus 24 yards and one touchdown rushing.

Jhadis Luckey, Clayton Valley Charter: Luckey rumbled for 255 yards and five touchdowns and made two catches for 47 yards and a touchdown as the Ugly Eagles blew out Miramonte 56-14.

Ryder Lyons, Folsom: Lyons completed 20 of 23 passes (87%) for 311 yards and three touchdown to one pick ran three times for 71 yards as well in a 48-7 rout of Whitney (Rocklin).

Talen Mather, Frontier: Mather rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns to help Frontier to a 27-13 win against Garces Memorial.

Landon McClendon, St. Mary's (Stockton): McClendon led the Rams with nine tackles, eight solo tackles, and three sacks in a 44-27 victory against Edison (Stockton).

Fin Mink, Stevenson: Mink completed 20 of 22 passes (90.9%) for 378 yards and five touchdowns with no picks as the Pirates routed Pacific Grove 49-7.

Michael Mitchell Jr., Archbishop Riordan: Mitchell completed 12 of 17 passes (70.6%) for 292 yards and five touchdowns without an interception as the Crusaders blew out Valley Christian (San Jose) 49-10.

Michael Murphy, Branham: Murphy ran for 160 yards and a touchdown and made four catches for 59 yards and a touchdown to help Branham get past Christopher 26-14.

Blake Nycum, Grant Union: Nycum completed 13 of 14 passes (92.9%) for 220 yards and three touchdowns, good for an incredible 171.1 passer rating, in a 49-10 rout of Antelope.

Caden Olson, Stevenson: Olson caught eight receptions for 165 yards and four touchdowns in Stevenson's 49-7 rout of Pacific Grove.

Gannon Sever, Buchanan (Clovis): Sever ran for 152 yards and two touchdowns and made three catches for 44 yards as Buchanan outlasted Clovis North 30-20.

Mariyon Sloan, Shafter: Sloan totaled 206 yards and three touchdowns rushing, a 56-yard touchdown catch, nine tackles, and a 77-yard kickoff return in the Generals' 42-35 win against Kennedy (Delano).

Brandon Smith, Central East: Smith went off for 259 yards and five yards rushing plus team-highs of seven tackles, six solo tackles, three pass break-ups, and one forced fumble to lead the Bengals past Clovis West 46-39.

Dowan Stevens, Lassen: Stevens rushed for 161 yards and four touchdowns as the Grizzlies sailed past University Prep 35-6.

Brayden Stevenson, Tulare Union: Stevenson totaled six catches for 168 yards and a touchdown in addition to a pick-six as Tulare Union decimated Mission Oak 78-0.

Luke Tribolet, St. Ignatius: Tribolet ran for 129 yards and a touchdown and made two receptions for 21 yards and a touchdown to help SI roll past Bellarmine 28-0.

Trevor van der Pyl, Menlo: van der Pyl totaled three catches for 116 yards and a touchdown plus a kickoff return touchdown in Menlo's 49-6 drubbing of Palo Alto.

Sam Whelan, Soquel: Whelan helped Soquel to a 41-12 win against North Salinas with 224 yards, two touchdowns, and no picks on 10-13 completion (76.9%) in addition to three rushing touchdowns.

AJ Williams, Hanford: Williams caught six receptions for 175 yards and three touchdowns as the Bullpups cruised past Tulare Western 55-14.

Tyler Winkles, Acalanes: Winkles guided the Dons to a 45-28 win over Campolindo in a battle of unbeaten teams with 199 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions on 12-18 completion (66.7%) plus 123 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries.

Jasen Womack, Oak Ridge: Womack recorded two rushing touchdowns, a touchdown catch, a punt return touchdown, and 229 all-purpose yards in a 38-13 win against Monte Vista (Danville).
