The Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays are set to square off in a highly anticipated World Series. Game one is on Friday at 8:08 p.m. EST. Los Angeles is looking to repeat as world champions for the first time this decade, and Toronto is looking to capture its first title since 1993.

The storylines are plenty in this World Series clash, but everyone wants to know what the starting pitching matchups will be for the first couple of games.

The Dodgers announce Blake Snell as Game One starter; Will face Trey Yesavage

According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, the Blue Jays are sending Trey Yesavage to the mound in game one.

The Dodgers announced a few days ago that Blake Snell would be the team's game one starter, so the matchup is officially set.

Toronto is showing a whole lot of trust in Trey Yesavage, who was called up in September, and only made three starts in the regular season before bursting on the scene in October.

As for Blake Snell, he's having one of the better October runs from a starting pitcher in recent memory.

His last start came 10 days ago against the Milwaukee Brewers, where he tossed eight strong scoreless innings and struck out 10 hitters and surrendered just one hit and zero walks.

All-in-all, Snell has thrown 21 innings this postseason and has given up just two earned runs on six hits.

For the Dodgers, it will be Yoshinobu Yamamoto who follows Blake Snell in game two.
