Those numbers are a slight decrease from the one-year deal Miller signed last year with the rival Washington Commanders, which was for $6.1 million and up to $10.5 million including incentives.

The DeSoto, Texas, native recorded nine sacks in 17 games for Washington last season, further bolstering his already-impressive resume. Miller’s accolades include the 2011 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year Award, eight Pro Bowl appearances, three AP First-Team All-Pro nods, and four AP Second-Team All-Pro selections. His production last season also moved him into a tie for ninth in career sacks (138.5) since the statistic became official in 1982.

Miller now joins a pass-rush rotation in Dallas featuring Rashan Gary, 2025 second-round pick Donovan Ezeiruaku, and 2026 first-round pick Malachi Lawrence. Any on-field production Miller provides will be valuable, but his veteran experience and leadership will be even more important for those young pass rushers, particularly Ezeiruaku and Lawrence, as they continue to develop.
