Von Miller has perfect 3-word answer for Cowboys legend after blockbuster signing

1 hour ago 3

The Dallas Cowboys made one of the biggest moves of the offseason by signing two-time Super Bowl champion Von Miller, creating more excitement around the team ahead of the new season. The pass rusher's arrival has created heavy buzz, and former Cowboys star Dez Bryant was among those celebrating the signing.

“It’s up!” Bryant tweeted.

Miller quickly responded to the post.

“You know that!” Miller commented.

Miller also reached out to Cowboys legend and former teammate DeMarcus Ware to let him know he was coming home. Miller has long expressed his admiration for the Cowboys, making the signing a full-circle moment in his NFL career.

Miller remains one of the league's most productive pass rushers and is tied for ninth on the NFL's all-time sacks list with 138.5 career sacks. During the 2025 season with the Washington Commanders, he appeared in all 17 games, recording 9 sacks, 26 total tackles and 6 tackles for loss.

The Cowboys are hoping Miller's experience and production can provide a major boost to a defense that struggled against the pass last season. The Cowboys surrendered 35 passing touchdowns in 2026, the same number as their total sacks.

Miller's signing strengthens Dallas in several ways, as he brings championship experience and leadership to the locker room, takes pressure off the rest of the defensive front while still generating pressure on opposing quarterbacks. The move also signals that the Cowboys remain aggressive in upgrading the roster, and reflects the organization's confidence in defensive coordinator Christian Parker.

Meanwhile, Miller also discussed his decision to join the Cowboys during an appearance on the “Nightcap” podcast.

“They’re the first team to contact me like a week before training camp,” Miller said. “There had been some talks about the Cowboys throughout the whole offseason. And it just seemed right for me. I always had a little blue on my heart since I was a little boy, and always paid attention to the Dallas Cowboys.”

With Miller now in the fold, the Cowboys' pass-rushing unit features an incredible group that includes Rashan Gary, Donovan Ezeiruaku, Malachi Lawrence, and James Houston.
