As many analysts and media personalities predicted, the Minnesota Vikings have signed Kyler Murray as free agency rolls on.
A one-year deal, likely a prove-it one, sees Murray, a two-time Pro Bowler, join the Vikings, and it immediately puts the future of J.J. McCarthy into question.
Minnesota has signed Murray to be a player to fight for the starting role in the Vikings' offense, and it is now up to J.J. to prove he's worthy of holding onto the title.
ESPN's Louis Reddick stated that if the Vikings sign Murray, "it's over" for McCarthy in Minnesota.

McCarthy's Vikings future in doubt
With Murray signing in Minnesota, he will have a chance to win the starting role, which means reps at OTAs and training camp. Reps that McCarthy desperately needs.
If Murray does, in fact, win the starting job from McCarthy, and he plays well, as Reddick stated, then the Vikings could look to move on from J.J., especially given how the Sam Darnold thing worked out.
Minnesota won't want that to happen again.
The move for Murray is seen as a good one for the Vikings.
But it's a move that could signal the end of McCarthy's time in the NFC North.
