Vikings reportedly interested in Big Ten star amid questions about $76 million Pro Bowler

The Minnesota Vikings have a lot more questions heading into next season than they did a year ago, and we all saw how last season ended. The Vikings should have been a much better team, but they’ll now have to improve heavily in the draft after struggling a year ago. 

With uncertainty surrounding Jonathan Greenard, the Vikings' questions will only get louder, and that's where Dani Dennis-Sutton, out of Penn State, could come into play. Field Yates pointed out that the situation with Greenard is still unresolved.

“Keep in mind that, as of right now, Jonathan Greenard’s status with Minnesota remains to be determined,” Yates said in a March 26 video on YouTube. “He wants a trade or a new deal. Neither has happened up to this point — Dani Dennis-Sutton, very large, athletic human.

“The flashes were really good this past season for a Penn State team that really fell off, obviously, but he was great against Oregon in a game that, at the time, was the kind of game we thought could define who makes the top four of the playoffs, right? That’s how much was on the line at that juncture. Big, physical, athletic pass rusher. A little tight, a little stiff at times here, but a guy that I think belongs in that mid-second round.”That upside is what makes him so appealing.

Dennis-Sutton has shown he can be elite at times, though he had some struggles at Penn State last season. In his defense, a lot of the Nittany Lions team struggled, and there were obviously some other factors outside of just playing football. 

Still, he’d be a very good addition for the Vikings,  and could potentially replace someone who's been a consistent contributor at the highest level.
