Vikings receive positive update on Aaron Jones status ahead of TNF

The 3-3 Minnesota Vikings are set to take on the 4-3 Los Angeles Chargers in Thursday Night Football. 

One question is on both Vikings and Chargers fans' minds ahead of the interleague contest: Will Aaron Jones be playing at running back for Minnesota in TNF? 

Jones has missed the last four games due to a hamstring injury. 

What is Aaron Jones' status for Thursday Night Football?

According to Adam Shefter, Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones is expected to return tonight against the Chargers. 

Jordan Mason has been getting the starting running back reps in Jones's absence, and it's unclear who will be the lead back in tonight's contest.

Jones has appeared in just two games this season and has not been featured much. He has just 13 carries for 46 yards and no touchdowns. 

His injury kept him out of some of the Vikings' week two game against the Falcons, and he has not been seen since. Jones is in his second season with the Vikings and ninth season in the NFL. 

It will be interesting to see how much the Vikings' offensive play-calling involves Aaron Jones tonight.
