Last offseason, the Minnesota Vikings decided to move on from Sam Darnold after a 14-3 season to go with J.J. McCarthy.
Some thought the decision was the right one, to let McCarthy get exposure, but others didn't think so. Darnold led the Vikings to the playoffs after winning 14 games; they thought he deserved another shot.
Now with Darnold leading the Seattle Seahawks to the Super Bowl, the Vikings might be looking back on what they could have accomplished with Darnold at quarterback.
And as it turns out, Justin Jefferson does too. When asked if he thought Darnold could lead the Vikings to the Super Bowl by USA Today's Price Grimes, Justin gave quite the answer.
"Yeah, I mean, for sure, definitely," Jefferson said via Grimes. "Everyone knows the difficulty of the quarterback position this year, of how we was dealt it, but having a quarterback that's already had a season under his belt with us, knew the plays, knew the playbook, knew the players. Of course, throwing to me, Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson, all of these guys, I definitely felt like we would've done better.
"But it is what it is. It's on to new and better things, but I'm definitely happy and proud for him that he was able to reach it this year."

Jefferson's comments might not go down well
With Jefferson basically saying that if the Vikings had Darnold, they would have had a better shot at a Super Bowl is rather interesting.
And I wonder how McCarthy and Co. will take those comments.
Is it a shot at the quarterback room? Or is Justin just being truthful?
Either way, the Vikings posted a 14-3 record with Darnold, and then backed it up with a 9-8 year with McCarthy playing 10 games, Carson Wentz five, and Max Brosmer two games.
You could make the case that Minnesota would have been better off with Darnold. And I think Jefferson agrees.
