The Seattle Seahawks will need to hire a new offensive coordinator as Klint Kubiak is expected to sign with the Las Vegas Raiders after Super Bowl 60.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday that a deal can’t be finalized until after the Big Game, but it is expected to happen. Raiders minority owner Tom Brady had a good look at Kubiak this postseason as he commentated the Seattle games for FOX.

Seattle ranked third in points (28.4 per game), eighth in total yards (351.4), tied for 10th in rushing yards (123.3), eighth in passing yards (228.1), 13th in offensive efficiency (50.76) and 15th in EPA (30.86). It was a massive improvement from the 2024 season and a major loss for the Seahawks. Kubiak is a finalist for the AP Assistant Coach of the Year award.

There are a few obvious candidates to replace Kubiak in-house in Seattle considering this is a Super Bowl-caliber team and staying the course might be the plan.

Four immediate candidates are:

  • Jake Peetz, passing game coordinator
  • John Benton, offensive line coach
  • Andrew Janocko, quarterbacks coach
  • Justin Outten, run game specialist

Of course, these coaches could depart Seattle to go work for Kubiak in Vegas. Peetz was hired under the previous OC and retained by Kubiak. Benton and Janocko both came with Kubiak. And Outten was hired afterwards.

Aside from in-house, there are two coaches emerging to the top for the open offensive coordinator position with the New York Giants. One of these two coaches who aren’t hired could be an option:

  • Kliff Kingsbury, who resigned as the Commanders offensive coordinator this offseason and was previously head coach of the Cardinals and Texas Tech.
  • Brian Callahan, the former Tennessee Titans head coach, was the Bengals’ offensive coordinator previously.
