The Chicago White Sox's top prospect, Kyle Teel, celebrated his MLB debut with a win vs. the Kansas City Royals on Friday. Coming from Triple-A affiliate Charlotte Knights, Teel had his whole family in the stadium to witness the special moment.

In an emotional call to his family prior to Friday’s game, Teel invited his mom, Janine, via a phone call, and his dad, Garett, through FaceTime. His brother Aiden was also present in the stadium and talked about how it felt seeing his sibling make his MLB debut.

His father, Garett, expressed that it was a “very emotional” moment for all of them, as it’s something Teel has strived so hard for. During their FaceTime, Garett could instantly tell by looking at his son’s face, who seemed almost on the verge of tears.

“It’s been a whirlwind. You know you get the call from him, very emotional. You work your tail off to get here and you’re waiting for the call the last three weeks; you’re playing so well and when you finally get the call…it’s indescribable,” Garett Teel said [0:14 - 0:33].

His mom, Janine, expressed how many more people wanted to come to Chicago, and many will be arriving tomorrow, too. Aiden said Teel’s always been a hardworking guy who has been striving to do his best in whatever he does. Garett was proud to see his son handle the MLB spotlight “phenomenally” and still keep his calm and help the team.
