A schedule change means the USWNT will face another Concacaf opponent this summer. Jamaica will join the Americans in St. Louis for a friendly on June 3.
Originally scheduled as a second match against China, a change in availability with the Chinese association resulted in a new opponent needed. Luckily for fans, Jamaica was ready to go.
The USWNT have only played the Reggae Girlz five times previously, the latest in 2022 in the W Gold Cup. Since, Jamaica has made history, advancing to the Round of 16 for the first time in the 2023 Women's World Cup. Khadija "Bunny" Shaw is a forced to be reckoned with, one of the best strikers in the world and ready to return for her nation.
In addition to the match, Becky Sauerbrunn's career will be honored ahead of the match in her homecoming.
As the Americans continue testing out a young roster, only time will tell who will earn their first caps, and maybe even a goal or two, against the Reggae Girlz.
