UFC White House fighters competing for massive bonus increase

Getting the opportunity to compete on the historic UFC Freedom 250 event - also known as UFC White House - card on Sunday is a major resume-builder for all involved.

Now, though, the fighters of the event will be competing for some serious fight-night bonuses.

The UFC announced on Friday that through a partnership with World Liberty Financial (WLFI), the fight-night bonuses from the grounds of the White House on Sunday night will include an additional $250,000 Performance of the Night bonus pool.

The bonuses will be paid out in USD1, the World Liberty Financial's U.S. dollar-backed, compliant stablecoin. They will be added to the traditional Performance of the Night bonuses presented to athletes by UFC President and CEO Dana White.

Previously, Crypto.com offered up $1 million bonus pool to the two athletes who earn the Fight of the Night bonus for the special event.

"We're proud to celebrate a historic night for UFC and the United States," said Zach Witkoff, co-founder and CEO of World Liberty Financial. "A victory in Washington should mean money in your pocket immediately, not when the bank opens. USD1 makes U.S. dollars more accessible and faster than ever before.

"We believe this is the future of finance, and we're excited to partner with UFC, which has done more than any organization to modernize the business of sports."

Ilia Topuria-Justin Gaethje headline UFC Freedom

Reigning UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria and interim champion Justin Gaethje square off in the main event of the UFC White House card live on Paramount+. Also, Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane battle for the interim heavyweight championship.

Pereira is a former UFC middleweight and UFC light heavyweight titleholder while Gane previously held the interim UFC heavyweight belt.

Several bonuses to be handed out

The traditional post-fight bonuses will be $100,000 along with $25,000 for a finish by anybody on the card. The two Performance of the Night bonuses will get $425,000 while the Fight of the Night receives $400,000 for each fighter from the new sponsorship.

There is over $1.5 million in bonus money on the table for the fighters of the card.
