Even superlatives fail to properly describe UConn women’s basketball’s heroics in recent campaigns.

For two years, the Huskies have been the sport’s finest side. Paige Bueckers’ graduation represented quite the loss for Geno Auriemma’s side. But UConn has found it fairly easy to replace her production, looking to Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd to recreate her heroics.

So far, so good. The All-American duo powered the Huskies to a spotless regular-season record. Tournament play has taken on a similar disposition, with UConn sweeping aside its foes by 38, 53 and 21 points, respectively.

A spot in the Final Four beckons for the defending national champions. No. 6 Notre Dame — and its splendid table-setter, Hannah Hidalgo — stands in the way. The Fighting Irish haven’t been nearly as efficient as their opposite number. But as long as they have Hidalgo, they have a chance.
