Typhoon Family episodes 11 & 12 recap
Typhoon Family episode 11 starts with Mr. Pyo arrives threatening Ms. Cha over a missing promissory note. Typhoon Trading, now working out of a former chicken restaurant, wins a shot at a government procurement bid after a week of threats, sabotage and last-minute fixes. However, Hyun-jun inspects at the office before ambushing Typhoon’s bid at the Public Procurement Office (PPF).
Tae-Poong and Bae Song-Jung discover a Korean Foreign Office aid project at the PPF. There, most supplies were already procured, but surgical gloves remain unmet. So, Tae-Poong decides to bid them. A skeptical PPF official initially crosses Typhoon off the supplier list, then Hyun-Jun changes his own submission to gloves, forcing competitive bidding.
Mr. Koo (briefly involved with a Y2K cult) returns, intimidates the bureaucracy into reconsidering Typhoon. He then hand-writes a flawless French manual after the office’s printer fails. Ms. Cha panics about the lost promissory note and is seen rifling 1990 financial files. Tae-Poong notices she’d rearranged documents. Mi-Ho settles into her job and, on a rooftop date, tells Nam-Mo her dream that save money to send Mi-Seon to college.
Privacy rare, Mi-Seon and Tae-Poong share little screen time, but late in the episode a tipsy Tae-Poong confesses he’s fallen in love with Mi-Seon. However, she insists that for her comes first. After Mr. Koo’s quiet plant-metaphor moment and the bid’s paperwork finally filed, Typhoon Trading reenters the race to supply surgical gloves.
Episode 12 opens with a flashback of Nam-mo in the army, visited by his mother, as Tae-poong’s narration says she was the most precious person to him. In the present, Eul-nyeo finds a photo of Nam-mo and Mi-ho and warns him she may not be right for marriage. Jeong-mi shows Mi-ho a mothers club invite for Beom and encourages her to attend. At work, Ma-jin explains Blaze Eagles is the only surgical-glove maker, leaving Typhoon Trading unable to negotiate prices.
After talking to Nam-mo, Tae-poong decides to contact the company’s Malaysian factory. Eul-nyeo later learns Mi-ho is an orphan raising siblings. Meanwhile, Hyun-jun and Manager Ha secure their own deal with Blaze Eagles. Tae-poong sends Song-jung to Malaysia, but he discovers the factory now produces pillows, though it still has over five thousand boxes of gloves. He negotiates a forty percent discount.
On bidding day, Typhoon stalls for time at the PPS. A telegram arrives from Song-jung reading 5111 40 Ok, confirming stock and price. Tae-poong submits just before the deadline and Typhoon Trading wins the contract. A flashback call explains how Song-jung got the deal.
Tae-poong and Mi-seon celebrate. She says the most precious thing to her is tomorrow, while he keeps his answer private. At work, Eul-nyeo reveals her identity to Mi-ho and forbids the relationship, saying Nam-mo will end up carrying her family. Nam-mo arrives angry, pulls Mi-ho away, and she tells him to leave her alone.
Elsewhere, Hyun-jun faces a huge loss for his father. Bak-ho urges him to flee to the US, but he vows to destroy Tae-poong instead and learns about the promissory note from Cha Seon-taek. At the warehouse, Tae-poong and Mi-seon receive the glove shipment. Tae-poong steps out for food, a fire breaks out, and the door is locked. He returns, breaks in and rushes toward Mi-seon as the episode ends.
On November 16, Typhoon Family surged to its best audience numbers yet. Nielsen Korea reports the most recent episode topped its time slot across all channels, averaging 9.9 percent nationwide and setting a new series high. It also led viewers aged 20 to 49 in that slot, posting a 2.8 percent nationwide average for the demo.
