India captain Suryakumar Yadav failed to deliver with the bat in the second T20I against Australia in Melbourne on Friday, October 31. The right-handed batter was caught behind by wicketkeeper Josh Inglis for just one run, lasting only four deliveries before getting dismissed by ace pacer Josh Hazlewood. The 35-year-old couldn't carry his form after scoring an unbeaten 39 off 24 balls in the rain-abandoned first T20I.

In his last 15 innings, Suryakumar Yadav has managed just 145 runs at an average of 12.083 without a half-century. The No. 3 batter scored his last fifty against Bangladesh in October 2024.

Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood starred with the ball to help the hosts dominate India in the second T20I. The speedster finished with figures of 3/13, including the wickets of Shubman Gill (5 off 10), skipper Suryakumar Yadav (1 off 4), and Tilak Varma (silver duck). Meanwhile, Sanju Samson failed to step up after being promoted to No. 3, lbw out by Nathan Ellis for just two runs.

However, World No.1-ranked T20I batter Abhishek Sharma looked in a completely different league.
