Miami Dolphins linebacker Jordyn Brooks has cited his team’s slack in offense as the reason for Thursday’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The Dolphins fell to their seventh loss in this campaign on Thursday.
Brooks addressed the press following the disappointing 6-28 loss, unequivocally pointing fingers at the Dolphins’ offense for the loss. He said:
“I thought they [the Ravens’ offense] had a decent game, but a lot of that came towards the end of the game. The game was out of reach. A lot of garbage time, to be honest with you.”•

The 28-year-old went on:
“I felt we played well defensively in the first half, but like I said, turnovers, that kills you. Not capitalizing, not scoring when we could, giving him an extra set of downs. Players like that, they’re going to find a way to get in the end zone, so we got to capitalize when we got the chance to and play complementary football.”Jordyn Brooks’ analysis of Thursday’s game is spot on. The Dolphins’ defense frustrated the Ravens in the first half, forcing them to go three-and-out on four of their six drives. The Ravens’ other two drives ended with scores, although one of them started after a Tahj Washington fumble.
The Dolphins’ offense conceded three more turnovers in the first half as they ended the game without a touchdown, reminiscent of their loss to Cleveland. While Brooks’ assessment may be right, it was still a bad look to have one of the Dolphins’ leaders criticizing his teammates.
Miami’s terrible form has finally forced the hand of owner Stephen Ross to start making changes to the team, starting from the administration. Following Thursday’s loss to Baltimore, the Dolphins’ general manager, Chris Grier, was shown the door, ending his nine-year tenure. Ross said following the decision:
“As I assessed the state of the team and in my discussions with Chris, it became clear to both of us that change could not wait.”Jordyn Brooks named AFC Defensive Player of the Week
Jordyn Brooks’ defensive display in the Dolphins’ Week 8 victory over the Atlanta Falcons has earned him the AFC Defensive Player of the Week honor. The linebacker recorded 10 tackles, a sack, and three tackles for losses as Miami held the Falcons to 10 points.
Brooks is currently the league leader in tackles with 93, while he has 2.5 sacks, six tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery.
