Triple H made a huge mistake on WWE SmackDown before Saturday Night's Main Event

Triple H made a huge mistake on SmackDown as one of the biggest storylines in WWE had a moment that defied logic. It was a clear and silly error that could have been avoided with one small move.

We're talking about the contract situation between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre. Earlier, before the segment, Nick Aldis confirmed with Drew McIntyre that there was no issue with the contract, and the Scotsman said that he was perfectly fine with it. Naturally, Aldis was suspicious of the lack of resistance on his part. McIntyre then asked him if he was afraid that he would say something he wasn't supposed to.

There was, of course, an issue. In the contract signing segment, Drew McIntyre said that if he or Cody Rhodes gets DQ'd, Cody keeps the WWE Title. If Cody gets counted out, he keeps the WWE title. So a stipulation was added stating that if Cody Rhodes gets DQ'd or counted out, the title will change hands. This was a huge mistake from Triple H because the contract was already clearly signed beforehand.

It was a weird bit of logic that was defied, although stranger things have happened in WWE. With that said, the segment saw McIntyre provoke Cody Rhodes before baiting him into hitting a Claymore Kick.

Once again, McIntyre stood tall over Rhodes, and this time around, the stipulation appears to be very much in his favor. It's going to be interesting to see what happens at Saturday Night's Main Event. Many are hoping for a Drew McIntyre victory as that would entirely shake up what some believe is a monotonous period in WWE.

With that said, Triple H and WWE also have to factor in that Cody is one of their big-money players right now, and fans are yet to turn on him.
