Trey Benson looked so promising in his short-lived opportunity.
After James Conner went down for the season with injury, the Arizona Cardinals handed their RB job to the talented Benson. But he too was hurt not long after.
That has pushed Bam Knight, Emari Demercado and Michael Carter up the depth chart and into important roles.
Benson is eligible to return in Week 10, so there's been curiosity on if he'll be back out there.

Trey Benson fantasy injury update
Benson wasn't back at practice on Wednesday, and head coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters he's not ready to practice.
Because Benson was on Injured Reserve, the Cardinals will at some point signal he's getting close by starting his 21-day window to return to practice and game action. They haven't done that yet.
That will leave the Knight and Demercado split, seemingly, for Week 10.
Demercado got more early-down work in Week 9 than he had before. It makes this a tough backfield to figure.
In PPR leagues, Demercado is definitely the best choice while Benson is out. In standard leagues, there's probably a case for either guy as a desperation FLEX play.
The Cardinals remain without Kyler Murray, too, so it's Jacoby Brissett trying to lead this offense to the end zone. That might not even be bad news for the backs, besides that Brissett is great at QB sneaks along the goal line.
