Travis Hunter live stats: Colorado vs. Utah score, updates, highlights from 2024 college football game

The race for the 2024 Heisman Trophy is coming down to the wire.

With just a few weeks remaining in college football's regular season, Colorado's WR/CB hybrid Travis Hunter, Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel, and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty appear to be leading the way in the competition for this year's award. On Saturday, Hunter, a significant piece for Colorado's offense and defense, will join the No. 18-ranked Buffaloes for a matchup against Utah.

Deion Sanders has Colorado playing some of its best football right now, as it's on a three-game win streak and has won six of its past seven games. The Buffaloes' only defeat since Week 2 was a one-score loss to Kansas State in which Colorado dealt with various injuries, including one that left Hunter sidelined.

The more Colorado wins, the more noise it's been making in the polls, and this matchup against Utah will be another opportunity to keep that momentum rolling. Saturday's contest is also another opportunity for quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Hunter to put on a show, as each has become an elite-level prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft this season. By April, football fans could see both Sanders and Hunter in new uniforms at the next level.

The Buffaloes are set to line up against Utah, which has had a 2024 season defined by injuries. The Utes' QB1, senior Cameron Rising, went down with a hand injury in Week 2, returned later on in October, then suffered a season-ending leg injury against Arizona State. Freshman Issac Wilson, the brother of NFL quarterback Zach Wilson, filled Rising's shoes for a few matchups but was later benched for sophomore Brandon Rose.

However, Rose also suffered a season-ending injury against BYU last week. Between injuries to Rising, Rose, senior quarterback Sam Huard, wide receiver Money Parks, and tight end Brant Kuithe, the Utes' offense has been beat up. Wilson, now returning to the starting quarterback role, will be tasked with leading Utah over its final three games of the season, a stretch which begins with Saturday's matchup against a talented Colorado squad.
